Danang’s Transportations


Da Nang City’s International Airport serves domestic and some international routes such as Thailand, Singapore, and South Korea. Although the Da Nang International Airport is only a small airport, it is the most important one for both the Central and the Western Highlands. The Danang International Airport is 2.5km to the south-west of the city center.


Maritime transport has been established with seaports of Hon Gai, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Vung Tau, and Saigon. Danang’s waterway is very convenient, as it has two big ports, Han and Tien Sa port.

Da Nang has two national highways: 1A, arterial North-South one, and 14B highway, connecting Danang to the Central Highlands.

Traffic on National Highway 1A becomes more convenient thanks to Hai Van tunnels, through mountain connecting between the city and Thua Thien-Hue.

-          Taxi

Da nang city has taxi and honda system serving for travel. For individual travelers, it is better to rent a car with a driver because it makes faster, more convenient and safer.

-          Motorbike

This vehicle is a favorite of adventurers. It is very convenient to travel by motor in the cities. Rending motorbike, you need leave your passport or a deposit.


Danang also has north – south railway (30km), along the city. The city has five stations: Da Nang, Thanh Khe, Kim Lien, Hai Nam and Hoa Chau station. Da Nang station is one of the main stations on the north – south railway.

From Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, it has the well-known Reunification Express train.
