Ha Tinh Overview

Ha Tinh province stretches from 17°54′ to 18°50′ North latitude and from 103°48′ to 108°00′ East longitude. It borders Nghe An province to the North, Quang Binh province to the South, Laos to the West, and the East Sea to the East.

It is about 340 km from the province to Hanoi capital. High mountains (1.500 m) are located to the west of the province, as Rao Co Mountain 2,235 m in high.

Ha Tinh is located in the Central Vietnam’s key economic zones, with an area of 6.054,85 km2 , of which 537.299,3 hectares have been used (including 462.238,7ha for agricultural, forestry, fishery and salt production and 75.060,60ha for non-agricultural purposes).

Ha Tinh has 1.227554 people most of them are Kinh people.

Mineral Resources

The province has 91 mines scattered in almost all districts, from the coastal to midland and mountainous areas. There is Thach Khe iron mine with reserves of about 544 million tons, 62.1% iron ores which are being exploited. The province also has tantalite mines with reserves of about 5 million tons, which is being exploring 100 to 150 tons per year. Besides, the province is in rich in rutile, zizcon and monazite. Since 1991, the Province has exploited and exported about 700000 tonnes of ilmenite. Ha Tinh province also has other minerals, such as precious stone, peat, mineral water, clay, dolonite, quarzile, quartz, kaolinite and sericite, a rare and precious mineral which has just been discovered.

Ha Tinh has many famous destinations as Thien Cam Beach in Cam Xuyen district, Xuan Thanh  Beach in Nghi Xuan district, Huong Tich Pagoda, Hong Linh Mountain, and many other historical -cultural sites as well.

People and Culture

Ha Tinh is home of national heroes such as Nguyen Du, Nguyen Cong Tru, Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Phu, Ha Huy Tap, Xuan Dieu, Le Van Thiem, Hoang Xuan Han, etc.
Ha Tinh people are very industrious, creative, studious, and friendly.
