Reunification Park (Cong Vien Thong Nhat)

Thong Nhat Park is surrounded by Tran Nhan Tong, Le Duan, Dai Co Viet, and Nguyen Dinh Chieu streets in Hanoi. Firstly its name was “Le nin” Park, its square is more than 50ha. It is one of the most charming places in Hanoi capital.   In 1958, the park was built when Vietnam country is not united. “Thong Nhat” name with meaning “united” expresses desire for reunification of Vietnamese people. After few years, in 1980 to remark the 110 anniversary of Lenin’s birthday, its name was once changed into “Lenin Park”. Nowadays, it brings the name Thong Nhat Park. Lenin Park is situated on Dien Bien Phu St and Thong Nhat Park has its original name.

Coming there, tourists can live in the pure environment. Thong Nhat park has 7ha lake called “ Bay Mau Lake” with a lot of trees, garden and the island in the middle of the lake.  There are also some games such as driving carts, mirror house, train ride.  Boating on the lake brings you the extremely excited felling as you can go away the hustle and bustle of the life.

It is open everyday from early in the morning till late at night. Especially, it is the ideal place for families, friends to have the picnic at the weekend. The spring Flower Festival takes place annually here.

Thu Le Park (Thu Le Zoo)

Thu Le Park is located at Nguyen Van Ngoc street, Ngoc Khanh street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi. It is both an entertainment place and spacious green trees.

The Thu Le Park was constructed since 1975 and completed in 1996. It covers 29 hectares, including 6 hectares for lakes, 5 exhibition areas and 40 animal houses with 600 animals of more than 100 species. Visiting here, visitors have a chance to  see about 40 different kinds of animals which are named in the Red Book of Vietnam. Some of them are the gifts of foreign countries as Europe, Africa, Australia and America.  People can call the Thu Le Park with other name is  Thu Le Zoo – the house of many animals. Thu Le Park was located on the West of Thang Long Royal Citadel. Presently, everyday, especially at weekends and on some vacations, thousands of visitors come here to relax, to enjoy the landscape or to see the animals. Thu Le Zoo is considered as the world of animal in folk- stories for children.

Thu Le Park opens daily from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm. There are two gates: one is on Kim Ma Streets; the other is on Buoi Road.

Ho Tay Water Park

Founded on 19th May 2000, Ho Tay Water Park is suited at Phu Thuong Ward, Tay Ho District. It is an entertainment water park. This water park has width 5,560 square meters. Coming Ho Tay Water Park,  you can take part in  a cultural playground with many water activities. Lying on the romantic West Lake, it has the beautiful sigh seeing create a cheerful and comfortable space for people after hardworking days. There are some typical entertainment facilities such as sliding lanes, wave-making pool, Tibetan suspension bridge, hair-raising swinging ropes, diving pool, massage pool and “lazy-river”, etc.  It is very pity if you miss visiting the Moon Park next to Ho Tay Water Park. Visitors may experience feeling of getting a panoramic view of Hanoi from a 60-meter swing at the Moon Park. If you want to watch movie, there has a three-dimension cinema, new generation electronic games and a supermarket. If you are a sporty man, you can also play tennis, badminton, ping- pong and billiards at a sport complex area which is located here.  Some are fascinated in fishing in a small pond, playing golf in a mini golf court, as well as trying bumping cars and roller-coaster.

Ho Tay Water Park and Moon Park attracts millions of tourist annually.

Bach Thao Botanical Park

Bach Thao Park is suited behind Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and the Presidential Palace. It covers an area of 20 hectares. There are two entrances: on Hoang Hoa Tham and Ngoc Ha street. In 1890, Hoang Hoa tham farm or the zoo, a garden with many kinds of plants and animals, was established by the French colonials. In the World War II (1939 – 1945), the birds living there died due to bad care and the remaining animals were moved to Saigon zoo by the French. So it changed to only a garden. After the capital’s Independence Day, the Hoang Hoa Tham zoo was rebuilt and its name was changed into Bach Thao Park (Hundreds of Plants Park). Visiting there, tourists can see a hill, in the northwest of the park, called Khan hill or Nung hill, it is actually Sa Mountain. Sa is the name of a strong tree, many of which grow there.  An old temple commemorating Huyen Thien Hac De, who helped the Ly King fight against invader, was built on the top of this hill.

Bach Thao Park is extremely beautiful, with hundreds of trees, romantic paths and clean ponds full of lotus plants. So it is an ideal place for weekend vacations, nowadays, many couples come here to take marriage photos.
